A studio is one business with one or more rooms. Most boards can show the whole company or one site, and a few exist only because there is more than one site to compare.
The location switcher
The location control sits in the top bar on boards that can be scoped. All locations is the company view; pick a site to see that room alone. The choice follows you from board to board until you change it. Boards that are studio-wide by nature, such as Classification and Knowledge, do not show the control at all, because there is nothing to scope.
The Front Desk keeps All available even when it is fenced to your locations, because a member can walk into any room, and rows with no location stay visible rather than vanishing.
What a location tab shows in its drill-down
Under every location tab, Drill down lists the documents written about that site and the insights computed for it: reports you ran from that tab, the site’s coaching notes, its at-risk count, its weakest slot, its no-show trend, its books flags and the like. Every Monday a short location brief is written for each live site from the site’s own figures and filed on its Overview tab; a studio with one site gets none, because the owner’s brief already covers it. Settings can email each site’s brief to that site’s location managers (off until you switch it on). Company documents such as the weekly brief, the forecast and the monthly review stay on All locations, one click away, and a site with nothing written about it says so rather than borrowing the company list. A studio with a single live location has no location tab to open, so that site’s insights and documents appear on the board itself, alongside the company’s. Lines that quote the books need View financials; what is withheld is counted, never shown.
Stages
Every location has a stage, set by the owner in Studio Setup.
- Planned: a room that is coming. It does not count against live-studio numbers.
- Presale: doors not yet open, memberships on sale. While a location is in presale the Presale board appears in the rail with its call sheets and launch timeline, and it stays for thirty days after the public launch.
- Live: open and trading. Only live locations are billed.
New locations arrive as presale, never live. Flipping a location to live is the moment its numbers join the company’s, and the moment the studio’s billed location count should go up by one. The billing page flags the difference in amber if the two disagree.
What a Location Manager sees
A Location Manager’s access is an allowlist of sites. Every scoped board shows only those sites’ rows: their classes, their members, their instructors, their revenue. Company totals, the forecast and the owner’s books are not sent to them. Ask Xyzi answers within the same fence.
If a manager has no locations assigned yet, the boards say so and show very little. The fix is their row in Settings → My Team, not the board.
Common questions
The location numbers do not add up to the company total.
Some revenue and some people carry no location, and some sales are recorded at a different room from where the class happens. The company total is the truth; the per-site split is attribution.
A site that closed still shows.
Change its stage in Studio Setup. History stays; the room leaves the live numbers.
We opened a new room and nothing changed on the bill.
Set the stage to live in Studio Setup, then check the billing page for the amber flag.
